Hey everyone....Just wanted you to know the "All Ford Drags" is June 5th (Saturday). I'm making sure that MCCI is well represented. Looks like at least four (4) of us will be there. My Comet & 3 Mavericks (so far). Anyway.....I went out to the strip this last Wednesday (May 5th). Had to do a little Test & Tune. Haven't raced it since last year at the All Ford Drags in Bremerton, Washington. The best I could get last year, was a 15.57. My goal was to make a pass in less than 15.50. That didn't happen. Oh, well!!! It was time to do a little tuning & new tires on the rear. On Wednesday night my best pass was a 14.44 (on street radials). WooHoo!!!!! I beat my goal! Not bad for a street legal Comet. My next goal will be to beat a 14.30. Keeping my fingers crossed. Will let you know the outcome next month (with pictures). I've posted a picture of me leaving the line on my record run to date. All that Acura Intergra (red) saw was my tailights...LOL Dusted him good. Long live the good old American Muscle V-8's.

Can't wait! That will be my inaugural drag race.
Maybe I can find a pair of slicks to borrow.

Hi Ray...I heard you had Sat off. What time do you get off work on Friday? We could drive down together...maybe we can start a cattle-drive. I think I'm going to bring my slicks along(so far)...my car is pretty much useless without them...so if you can't get hold of a set you can try a pass or two later on with them. I'm just not keen on having them at the show the next day(they are big and not nice to look at)oh well what can you do. Can't wait til June...It will be fun!

    Courier11sec,
Am going to the swap meet in Monroe next weekend , maybe you should go and look for some slicks. Last year I haggled over a set of new never mounted Hoosiers for $100, kick myself ever since, I walked away trying to save $20 and when I decided I couldn't pass on $325 worth of tire for $100 they were long since gone! But a great place to look for almost anything. never know what bargain you're gonna get.

I might make it to the swap meet. Not sure yet.
Cliff I get off about 5:30 on Friday and have a friend in Kent I can stay with.
I'd love to caravan down if it works out that way.

Wish I could go to the Swap Meet on Saturday, but I have to work. I'm going on Sunday though. It will probably be picked thru by then....Oh, well!!!!! Let me know what you find, Ray.
Did you say that Cliff & yourself are caravaning down on Friday night? Is that Friday June 4th? Or this Friday? Just curious, as I have Friday's off. Could meet you guys in Marysville at the Casino (Tulalip) & caravan with you the rest of the way down to Seattle. Let me know....

    Coop-
That'll be the fourth, but I haven't heard back from Cliff yet so nothing's in stone yet.
Also, I have so far been unable to find a freeway friendly center section to drive down with.

Hey Ray..I can meet up with you on the 4th when you get off work or whenever you are ready. Maybe we could meet at the "Country Buffet"(I think thats what it was called)like last year(at least I know where it is). I talked with Camtemple about traveling down with us...but he wasn't sure yet. Whenever you ready we can mosey on down towards Seattle and meet up with Coop. Let me know what you think. What gears do you have now? I'm running 4:11's with a 2800stall (3500rpm on the freeway)so I don't travel very fast on the freeway(everybody and their dog passed me last year...some of them twice)...so if your worried about low gears...I can travel slower if need be(if thats possible)...or if you looking for another centre section...I have a posi 9" with 3:55 gears I can bring down for you to borrow..let me know.

    Cliff-
A new Buffet opened up that is a million times better than the one we went to last year.
As far as the gear thing goes, I also run 4.11 gears, but I have a spool in mine, making long distance driving not an option. Also my rear is an eight inch so your spare center section wouldn't work. (damn!)
Don't worry, I'll get it sorted out.
Do you still have my phone number?
    (360)201-5048
    Can't wait! Woo-hoo!!!!

    Ray,
Wish I would've known you had an eight inch rearend when I was parting out my Comets before going to the wrecking yard. I would've pulled a pumpkin for you. (Even though they were 2.79 gears). Good for highway driving. Damn......Any luck yet getting one?

I sort of asked about that when I asked if they had to be rolling units.
What happened to the cars? Are they at a local wrecking yard?

Yes, they went to a local wrecking yard. I can find out which one, if you like. Then I can find out how much for the rearend pumpkin. Let me know.
