Got the cowl on there, plug welded it, turned out quite nice.

    Now, on to the paint.

My 74 has the big bumpers and a plastic/rubber cover, do I have to use a special paint on the fairly flexible plastic?

Lots to do before I paint, but I like having everything figured out well ahead of time.

You can get away without a flex additive for the soft parts but. I dont recommend going without. The expansion/contraction of the soft parts is different from steel. The paint will crack/lift in due time with enough exposure to temp and the elements.

Just tell the paint dealer you need flexible additive for the paint.

you'll also need flexible urethane primer to go underneath it. The most flexible topcoat in thw world won't stay attached to chipped and cracked primer, right?

The universal flex agent additives don't always work with some/many primers and they are formulated differently with it already added or packaged seperately.

A urethane topcoat would be best since it's more flexible as well. Which also means more chip resistance where you need it on the front end.

you can also use bulldog adhesive. it makes paint stick to flex pieces, chrome, plastic, or vinyl
