I have a thread going about installing AC in my car. I am nearing the end of the project and it's come down to cosmetics now. Dash stuff is done. I'm cleaning up everything that goes under the hood before I install it. Painting pulleys, brackets, etc... The compressor needs to be painted. I was thinking I would do the brackets and pulleys in gloss black, and the compressor in either silver or gloss black. My question is this: Does the AC compressor get hot enough that I should use engine paint, or am I good to go with the regular stuff?

Also if anybody has pics of a nice looking engine bay with a factory compressor I could use some inspiration.

    Thanks!

Depends on the products your going to use. I have painted engine blocks with real dupont paint and it held up nice.

The photo below I used Omni (a ppg product) on my air cleaner and valve covers with no problems yet. The A/C unit I just used a rattle can of the 500 degree paint.
