Has anybody painted their undercarriage, floors, etc. on the underside of their cars? I'm thinking I'll clean up the underside and blast some paint on. I'm hoping to just use paint from a can. Any tips?

I painted mine when we restored my Maverick. The first thing I did was put the car up on truck jacks and power wash the undercarraige to get rid of all the dirt and remove any lose undercoating. When it was dried I applied rust converter on the whole bottom of the car. Next I sprayed the undercarraige with paintable undercoating and let that dry. When I painted it I used some leftover gloss black automotive paint and actually brushed it on. It took longer but I did'nt have a face full of overspray to deal with later. Who's going to see brush stokes on undercoating anyway? When it dried it looked great, but just for the hell of it I took some old clearcoat and clearcoated the undercarraige too. Now it really looks great and it's easy to keep clean as well. If you don't mind hanging out under your car for a few days it's definalty woth the trouble.

Well, sometime I'll have to slide down under the Mav and give it a through cleaning and re-paint as well, so the info was greatly appreciated here as well!
