Can anyone help me with finding the best rear parking brake cables?

    1. Are there any differences between 1970-77 for the rear cables? It appears that perhaps 1975-77 might be different from the Ebay fitment charts, but it seems to me that if there was a difference it should be between only the 2-door or 4-door models. Mine is a 1974. I found a set in my local craigslist marked for 1970 only, but I'm thinking that the seller must be mistaken and can't imagine what could be different about just 1970.

    2. Then, any opinions which brand is the highest quality? Wager, Bruin, Dorman, Raybestos, AC/Delco?

    Thanks for any info

My 70 cables are different than later years. They moved the pivot location when they started putting in bucket seats and cats. When I needed to replace mine I used a set for a '72, IIRC. Was able to adjust the passenger side ok but had to shorten the driver's side. How much do they want for the 70 set?

Rear cable you can find new. The front cable is no longer available and must be found used or NOS.

There are several versions of the cable routing through the years, so they will not all interchange with each other.

The only difference in 2-door and 4-door cables was a small (about 10") cable that was in the system to make up for the longer distance on the 4-door. One can use a 4-door system on a 2-door, just leave out this small cable.

I bought rear cables for a 73 Maverick new at NAPA to use on my 70. They worked but I had to swap sides (lt to rt/rt to lt) and lengthen the Equalizer adjusting rod.
