Part Identification - On Valve Cover

    Could someone ID this part for me? Wonderin what should be attatched to it? :huh:

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    Looks like the distributor modulator valve.Controlls vacuum to the dist.... one hose to dist other hose to carb throttle plate.(bottom nipple to dist vac advance) top one to carb.At least thats what it looks like with the 2 wires to it and all.

    Not real familiar with the 6 engines but I was working on one of mine the other day and agree. Mine had one hose going to the carb vacuum fitting at the base plate. Can't remember the other.:)

    Yep. It's the modulator valve, thanks!

    Was thinkin that was what it had to be, but the nipples on the distributor were already taken. On closer inspection, both ends of the dist are going into the intake manifold, the mod valve has nothing going to it, and neither does the PVS valve....

    G-d forbid anyone reasemble anyting correctly (not to mention the several feet of hose Im missing) when they get done working on it.... Another reason not to farm out jobs :yup:
