Yes a 302 bell housing will work on a 250. You will need a 250 flywheel, the spacer plate off the 250 or the 302 you are using. Just make sure before you install it that all the bolt holes line up for the starter. will save you time if it isnt right.

it depends on where you get your transmission, im trying to find one at pull a part and they are only $ 70 there. but if you bought all the same stuff i did it is going to be about $650 and im trying to get as many parts as i can from pull a part.

Did you mention cross member? I didn't have to shorten my driveshaft but then again I did it on a 302. Don't remember if the speedo gears needed changing or not. I don't know what you mean by firewall reinforcement, we just used an L bracket to mount one part of the pedal to the firewall. Some hard lines which are a PITA, braided soft lines are easier to bleed. You need that little bushing for the slave cylinder to seat onto the fork.

you know for $650.00 you can buy most of the tools you would need to do this swap your self.
    a good jack.
    4 jack stands
    wrenches
    sockets
    rachet
    drill and bits
make templates for any brackets you need and have them cut and welded at a welding shop. you could even do the cuting your self. just get a grinder and come cut off wheels for it. also get eye protection.
