Im looking to starting building on my engine soon. I wanna start with a new intake manifold and maybe a 4bbl carb. Can anyone help me with what are some decent used ones to look out for? Im on a low budget thats why i say used and i have a stock 302.

    Brian,
Your choice of manifold depends first on the rpm and displacement of your engine.

Intakes ? Look at any of these: Edelbrock Performer RPM, RPM Airgap, Weiand Stealth, Ford A321, Shelby "Cobra", Ford C9OX (these last three are essentially the same intake) These are all high rise dual planes and work great from idle to 6500 rpms. A low rise dual plane (ala the early 80's Mustang 4 bbl intake or the Edelbrock Performer) will work but will limit your topend and any future mods. You want a carb no larger than a 600 cfm.
