Hello! I had planed on painting my 71 maverick sunset orange pearl with static gray pearl grabber stripping. My painter isn't very comfortable trying to tape off & paint the side stripping around the fender Wells, so we have decided to go with the striping decal, so I ordered a color sample of the Grays that graphic express offers. I like the slate metallic because it appears darker than light gray but lighter than charcoal metallic, dark gray and special Gray. Do you think metallic strips look ok on a pearl paint job?

I know everyone may have a very diffent opinion. I'm just trying to get an idea of what others think. THANKS.

Thanks, I understand that. I'm just worried that the metallic strips may look off to the none metallic paint.

My painter is a buddy of mine. We help each other out. I do any welding he needs and he helps me with body work and painting. It's like he says we're not a professional Body Shop we are a Improvement shop LOL

My 71 Reflective Black Grabber stripes 'appear' metallic when the light hits it a certain way. Personally, I think grey stripes on a colour like your orange make the stripes look 'washed-out', as the stripes are there for contrast. That is only my opinion. I love the orange and I think it will really look nice. It may be a bit more expensive, but when in doubt, get some spray-outs done and ask if G-E can provide pieces of unused samples so you can apply them directly over the spray-outs.

I always thought Graphic-Express could only provide Licensed Ford stripes in OEM colours and configuration as condition of their License. The same reason one cannot get them to make a 'decal' of the 71 hood treatment even though they cut/sell the 71 hood treatment stencil?

If your painter is worried about getting the stripes 'right', I have taken measurements of mine for others, and can provide more if needed. And FYI, tape is a bit easier to move and reposition and lay out than a big long, thin decal, IMHO.
Here are the measurements of my Factory Installed stripes. Note the metallic from the flash:
