how much horsepower does my car have??? its a 1970 with a 200 engine. Anyone know the 0-60 times of the car? what about the quartermile? Someone wants to race, im not going to but I want to know like hypothetically who would win. other car is like a 1990-93 4 door Honda civic, no upgrades, 4 cylinder. Not sure what engine exactly. thanks!:tiphat:

I dont know the specs on the mav but the specs on the civics are.....

    88-91 Dx models 98hp and 80tq
88-91 LX and Si models 110hp and 100tq
    92-95 Dx models 110hp and 100tq
92-95 Ex and Si models 130hp and 110tq

I know this because I have 3 hondas right now 93 civic ex, 90 Crx Si and 92 Accord Dx and I have owned two other hondas 91 Crx Si and a 93 Del Sol Si. :)

There's more to it than just simple Horse Power (as you are probably aware). There's traction issues, gear ratios, auto or manual, etc.

Take it to your local track and find out. It's loads of fun (more fun if you win ;) !

That is true. If the civic is a auto you shouldnt have a problem plus its a 4dr. My 93 2dr. is not that fast at all but my Crx used to be pretty quick 95mph in a 1/4 it had a cold air intake, and the head had beed shaved then I put a 93 Vtec Si engine in it. Hondas are decently fast my advice is just stay away form the little ones that say Si on the back :D .

hey that del sol and crx are pretty fast right!?? Ive heard crx's are pretty fast because they are super lighweight. had a friend that said he smoked a corvette with his hatch back (never believed him thought) My friend has a 1990 acura integra with a 93 gsr standard with open headers. Told me he got smoked by a del sol with turbo at the track. Ive been in his car while racing. We raced two like 1996 mustangs with V-6s. smoked em both in a street race. pretty cool!!!1 his tire got flat though

Yeah del sols are pretty fast mine was a 5spd. and it would run 90 mph in 3rd. gear. The 94 up dels sol Si's had dohc vtecs in them they are 170hp and 130tq. The crx's are fast too mainly because they only weigh 2200lbs. Your friend soulds like he's got a pretty nice car, the gsr engines are some of the best ones around.

lol yeah its pretty cool. damn your car sounds pretty fast!!!!! There is some weird switch on the shifter that he presses to activate the v tech its like a little turbo button. He presses it and the car goes faster. cool. They have their own little racing group called enemy one. they even have their own decal that says enemy one looks pretty cool. His car is the second fastest. Fastest car is a 90's hatchback, also has a gsr. 5 speed too. another member has a different hatchback with V-Tech. But check this out: He took off the fuel injection and made it carbureted! wth??!! I didnt even think that was possible:dance:

Yeah my cars used to be fast the origonal crx engine is in a barn, as far as the del sol goes it is going to the big junkyard in the sky the engine out of my del sol has been 3 of my cars now. Irt orignally came out of the del sol then in made its way into the crx and now its in my 93 civic with the trans out of the del sol too. I have also heard of people using motorcycle 4cyl motorcycle carbs as individual throttle bodies for each cylinder. Too much work for me :D .

You know my Chilton's guide has the specs in it, but it's at my house unfortunately and I won't have access to it until tomorrow. If nobody's able to find out I'll see what I can dig up in that. :)

Best thing to do IMO is to check it out yourself. See what kind of speeds you can get on the track, if you're up to just having some fun - won't give you HP but you'll get times. If I ever get close to a racetrack that's what I'm gonna do just for kicks and giggles. :D

The Chilton Guide has a chart with the hp for all Mavericks by engine and year. The 1970 200 cc had 120 hp. The hp dropped with the addition of emissions controls to a low of 75 in '75. Your 1970 200 had the same hp as a 1975 302.

I am taking my 69 1/2 to the track this weekend and I will let you know how slow it really is. I am just taking it to get a base time slip so I can see the improvements from stock when the car is finished. The track I am going to is only an 1/8th mile but I can get some good data from a few runs there.

As I said I will let you know what it does.
