Here are some pics as promised. As I said in my other thread it's pretty rough, it hadn't been driven since '96 and there was an elm tree growing over it, hence the heavy coating of sap that makes it appear as though it's been through a fire. I think it'll clean up nicely though if I follow the new "Maverick Man" buffing method. There's a bit of cancer on the driver's side rocker panel and a few wrinkles in the roof from kids apparently walking on it but otherwise the body's pretty good. It has apparently been repainted, which would explain the missing quarter-panel emblems. The "RB" trim code can be seen in the final pic. The interior is almost immaculate. There are no cracks in the dash pad, no rips in the headliner, the seats are in awesome shape due to having been covered. I'll post more pics as things progress. All in all, it's going to be a lot of work getting it back in shape, but also a lot of fun!
Aw, you're making me blush. Seriously, thanks for the encouragement. After a bit of tinkering, I fired her up for the first time today and the engine sounds really strong. On the downside, I see a hood repair in the future, the underside of the hood lip is rusted out pretty bad. Gotta take the good with the bad, I guess...
Following your previous writings about this find, I was expecting it to be worse that it looks. You have a really nice project there! Looks very original, great interior and a running 302! Congratulations!! :bananaman
Acornridgeman - Yeah I was bracing myself for the worst when I first saw it too, I still expect to find some more little surprises as I go, but that's life. Ray, I don't mind saying, but I was avoiding it 'cause I think it might make some of you a bit green... $350 CDN
That's a Canadian sticker under the data plate, correct? Have you checked the quarters for remnants of a Maple Leaf? Maybe it's a Canadian model. Great score! -Corbin
