Mike had called me because of the part that had broke off of his cylinder head. You can see the broken off part in picture #5. It came out of the hole located above the sparkplug in pix #4. Can anybody help him out?

I am sort of guessing here but it looks like a check valve from the emissions air injection system? I use a question mark because I have never seen one mounted there before, but it is in the right location. My guess is that the part that broke off is screwed into the head. Probably about a 1/2 pipe thread? You can buy check valves at any parts store for about $10, but you might have to do some searching to get a screw in one like the original. Perstence will likely be the key to getting the old one out. Maybe try a small sharp chizel and start picking at the edge with a hammer. If you can get and edge started - hit it with PB Blaster and try to spin it out. It might be pretty brittle and come out easy. Fingers crossed.

Keep us posted ... I like interesting challenges.

With the exception of the OOPS (front fender) the paint looks nice and bright I'm jealous - primer is about as much as I see my car getting for some time.
