I just noticed that the pinion seal on my 8" differential has sarted to leak. What is the best way to change this?

Remove the driveshaft, remove the nut in the center if the pinion shaft, pull the yoke off, then just use a screwdriver to pop out the old seal. Make sure there is no groove cut into the yoke where the pinion seal rubs. Take the yoke with you to the store cause there are 2 different seals. Both have the same outside dia but one is about 1/8" larger inside diameter.

And if possible get a "Benda" seal made from Viton- it holds up a lot better than the stock material. Most ford dealers have them or can get them.
