I have been searching the web three days for a '73-'74 Mav manual steering pitman arm, evidently they didn't put them on any other 74's but mine 'cause there's none out there.
    Need some input PLEASE!!!!

Keep an eye on this thread. He may have what you need...

Or PM him yourself regarding manual or power steering.

When I converted to manual, I found the pitman arm pretty quickly. Moog brand, and brand new. I think ebay for $15 or so.

Will the arm from a '72 work on a '74?

Hmmm...not sure, but I don't see why not.

I would just look to keep it a manual from a manual, and a power from a power. And not try to use a power from a manual, but I did that, and they didn't look any different. Might be the same part.

How does the pitman arm wear? I've never had one go bad, the pitman arm is the arm on the steering box? not the idler arm, on the passenger side frame rail?

Did some research in the Ford Master Parts Catalog.

Maverick and Comet manual steering Pitman arms are the same 1970-74. Part number D0DZ-3590-A.

1975-77 shows a different part number for manual steering.

Power steering Pitman arms are all the same 1970-77.
    Ford part number C9DZ-3590-A.

Thanks, with the help of y'all I found the information and the parts I needed to make the conversion. I came up with an idea for the fan pulley problem, if it works I'll post pics. :Handshake
