Found a place in Terre Haute, IN. that runs a monthly street car shoot-out. They have 3 heads-up classes. 1 is called FunStreet. Its basically a heads-up class with a break-out limit. 6.50 is as quick as you can run, anything quicker and you are DQ'd. I am hoping to have the car ready in time to shake it down here locally and make the June race. Sounds like a lot of fun.
John, If you've never been to the track in Terre Haute, it's pretty neat. It sits right on the road...and I mean right on the road. It's smack in the middle of a commercial area. There's a mall, a Wal-Mart, and a little of everything else right there. I don't know how the track has survived all these years without the neighbors complaining, but fortunately, it has. Where did you see the info on the street-car races? I may have to check it out too. US 60 in Hardinsburg also has monthly street-car shootouts. Those are pretty cool too. I made a couple of those last year. I'm going to try and make the PRO fastest street-car shootout in Bowling Green in June. I wasn't able to make it last year, but that is a fantastic show. I'm trying to get the '71 going right now, so that I can make some of the local DOT tire races. Nothing spectacular, just wanting to have a little fun again. No idea what the car is going to run, just hoping to make some passes. Hopefully it will be ready by next weekend...I'm now waiting on the delivery man to bring me parts! Later,
here you go Tom.....maybe if the stars are aligned just right we can get together. http://www.streetshootout.com/index.htm
