Have a question here about painting plastic kick panels, dash tray etc.
I am concerned about peeling and chipping if I paint these parts.
What should a guy use to prep these parts and or maybe what sort of paint should I use?
An old timer was telling me that in the past he used some sort of rubber based paint so the paint would not chip--said it would bend and move with the plastic. He didn't know if they still made it and I have no idea about such.
    Any help greatly appreciated.:tiphat:

I just cleaned my panels with prep cleaner and painted them with plasti-koat body shop paint, its been 3 yrs and no chips or pealing.

Use the best products you can, something like SEM, they have the correct paint/dye and pre-cleaners, and adhesion promoters. All in spray cans.

    Dont use truck bed lining....lol

I thought it would harden to a rock hard finish...seeing it IS for truck bed lining...bought a can for $10...sprayed 4 heavy coats on one rear panel.

When it dried it looked really good, looked like it came from the factory...after a few days it started falling off for no reason..., the liner fell off the primer, which I found was odd.
