I currently have no turn signals operating but every headlight, parking light, etc. works perfectly. I changed out the flasher but still no flashing. Questions:1) Are the turn signals on the same fuse as the rest of the lights?2) Does the flasher cannister have to be grounded?

if the canister needs a ground one of the wires on the socket should go to a ground.

The lights may NOT be on the same circuit. I cannot say for sure but I know my trucks not. If you change the fuses make sure your fuse box isnt corroding. Thats a big factor to stuff not working when they should. And maybe before you tear into wiring you might just want to repace fuses on the light circuit regardless of looking good or not.

If you have a brake light and running lights it will not be the fuse. Are you sure you have a brake light? If so I would recheck your flasher. I have bought a new flasher before and gotten a bad one. I just bought a new battery for my comet ,took it home and it was bad. If they are good make sure you have a complete circuit.

You may have changed the wrong flasher. The easy one to get to is for the hazzard lights. The one for the turn signals is up higher behind the instrument cluster.

The turn signals and brake lights both go through the turn signal switch. If the light brightens when you put the turn signal on but doesnt flash then the flasher is bad. If it doesn't get brighter then the turn switch is bad.
