Please Help!!!

    Hi is there any one out there that can tell me the difference between a C3 and C4 transmission. i want to know if the bell housings can be changed i want to fit a C4 transmission on a 300L V6 motor.

    The bellhousings and most everything else is completely different.
    The C3 is much weaker than the C4 internally. There is, I believe, a C4 that will bolt up to the 3 liter V6. It was available in the Mustang II, Capri and Pinto.
    This is going to be a junk yard search - remember, all you need is the smaller bellhousing for the C4 because the V-8 C4 will bolt to that bellhousing and the clutch drums in the C4 for the small motors won't hold as many clutches. If you got a V-8 C4 and bolted on the smaller bellhousing you would have an indestructable tranny for your car.

    thank you Paul sorry so late. I have gust received the C 4 transmission today and must see if the bell housing will interchange. but thanks for the information
