So I drove my car for the first time in a while, because I just finished the paint job and replaced the carb. It started up just fine, went off as normal, but when it hit around 35-40 mph it didnt shift into second gear. It still kept going past it, to around 45, but I felt it was pushing it so I let off the throttle. My immediate thoughts went to the carb, but it seemed to be getting fuel just fine.What could possibly be wrong?
Oh thank jesus. I thought that I might have actually had a serious problem. Where is the vacuum modulator hose?
If I'm correct, there should be a hose/steel line, from the intake/carb area to the rear of the transmission. It may have been knocked off down below while you were messing with the carb topside. I could be wrong.....
