So I went to all the effort of swapping pedal support, drilling the firewall, and installing 76 maverick power brake booster with mounting extension to find out the Damn booster is now bad. Can I install a universal 7" single or dual diaphragm booster and use the non booster support bracket going to the shock tower? Currently I'm running 12.5 mustang disc up front and explorer disc rear. The master cylinder is from a 1997 explorer (I think). Will a 8" booster be too big?

Just send the old one to Booster Dewey and get it rebuilt.
