I'm in the process of putting manual steering in my 74 maverick. Have exhaust unbolted from manifold, but still can't get steering box out. Does anyone know if I have to take the manifold off or can I jack up the motor?
You dont have to change the box. As a matter of fact, the power steering box has a quicker ratio and usually is in better shape due to less strain put on it. I run a power box with manual linkage.
I think I've seen a tie rod end that replaces the P.S. control valve in one of the Mustang mags. Anyone else seen or used one of these? ________________________________________Rocky
I did the grab-a-trak manual steering adapter on my 69 mustang and steershard even with 3.5 welds up front. That's why I'm wanting to put the manualbox in my stock 74 302 Mav. Just wanted some input on the easiest way to getthis out, without pulling the motor.
