power to man. steering ???

    hi,
    has anyone used the conversion kit (mustang) for removing the power cyl. on their mav. i would like to remove everything...i also didn't want to replace the drag link and pitman arm if i don't have to...any part #s would be great...thanks...frank...:bouncy:

    Autokrafters part # RP27483 $165, on page 32.

    PM me after you do it and tell me how it works. I also want to free up the space under the hood and lose all the power steering junk. Just not brave enough to spend that kind of money until I know how well it will work.

    I never understood why these cars needed power steering in the first place. I can steer ours with one hand makeing a U turn...

    my new book doesn't have the part you are talking about on pp32...

    dan,
    that is mighty small for.. 1-2 hr. install...has anyone used either of these?

    Getting the old control valve off may take a while .... putting it all back together is the easy part ...

    Oh yeah, I have the 2004 AutoKrafter catalog. Is it still in there, or do I have to go through Mustangs Unlimited?

    that is a lot of bucks for such a small part...
    ???#2,
    my fan belt adj. is the power steering pump..someone have a pic. or list of parts i need to adj. my fan belt...frank... :bouncy:

    Yeah, good point...what drives the fan when you remove the power steering pump? Do you need a different fan base with a pulley that lines up with the alternator?

    I just saw one within the last couple of days for $112 also ... I can't remember where though! :hmmm:
