This came up when I searched Summit's site by keyword 'Maverick' http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=PWT-1810-LR&Ntt=maverick&Ntk=KeywordSearch&N=110&PartSearchFlag= Anybody know the difference between this and the Powertrax No-Slip setup? Other than $130?
There is a company called Randy's Differentials, or something similiar, out in the Northwest and they are very helpful on the phone. Look up their website and call them. CR
Can someone give me a very brief description of how to install one of these? I assume I use my existing gears, or do I? I keep hearing "so easy to install, in minutes, with garden tools, etc" but I cannot find actual instructions, even from Richmond's website. I even downloaded and printed a 40 page "description" but it really doesn't describe installation.
Scooper, I have the manual. I installed this (actualy, had it done!) I would be happy to mail it to you... Scotty P
Also, my current gearing is 2.79. I have mostly stock 302 (with new intake, 600cfm Edelbrock) and I have difficulty keeping the stock tires on the ground. These things will break loose with any acceleration. Do I need to move toward 4.11, or can I live with 2.79? I want to keep fuel economy high and RPMs low for highway driving, and I only drag once in a while to evaluate improvements to the car. I eventually plan to get approximately 500 hp after boring, stroking, NOS, possibly blower, but currently have only 180 or so. Any suggestions? I read that I can keep any gearing and add the Powertrax to it, as it installs within the gears, not in replacement to them. Thererfore, I can replace the gears and keep the locker. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
