Well I thought it would be nice if I got some base time for the Mav before I started the build. So I took it to the scale and weighed it (2620 - driver). Then I took it to the race track today. Well I held the proud distintion of being the slowest vehicle there today, but thats OK. I just concider that I am running a 37 year old 200 I6 that is all stock W/points and a C-4 auto. Ran a best of 12.727, 2.695 60ft time. 1/8th mile track. I did win the first round of trophy class but on the second round I have no idea what happened, I diled a 12.85, cut a 0.514 light and ran the 12.727. Not a bad deal at least I was back at the house by 7:00.
So whoever it was that was wondering what a 200 I6 would do, here is your answer.

the 69's and early 70's are very light. Mine weighs a tad over 3000 with my 200lb carcas:rolleyes: So take away all the crap I added 302 with heavy roush heads, sub frames,Very heavy hedman elite headers, South side lift bars, I can see his wighing in at that weight no problem.
so with out the driver mine weighs 2850.....

All I have done to the car is this
    1. took out the bench seat and put in a set of buckets out of a Probe
    2. switched out the front drum brakes for 75 disk setup
    3. took out the 7.2in rear end and swapped in the 8" 5 lug from the 75
    4. put on 15 X 8 rear tires with 295/50R15s, and 15 X 7 with 235/60R15 on the front.
All of the changes that I have made would have made the car heavier. I guess it is the fact that it is a 69 1/2 that it is so light.

He forgot to mention the acid dipped fenders, plexiglas windows, drilled brackets and he filled the tires up with helium! :rofl2: Just kiddin. Not that bad of time for a 6. I've seen V8's run slower...

    Thanks guys, Just a little wierd. The last Mav I had ran 7.37 @ 94mph 1/8 with a 1.62 60' time. 11.93 @ 114 1/4.

But that will change soon, the slow thing that is. The car will start getting all the new stuff in the next week, Hpoe to be done with it within the next year. I have made a pact with myself not to drive it till it is done. So I guess I will have to put the drive train off till the very last thing that I do.
