I was wondering if anyone could help a buddy of mine out...?

    He has a 1977 2 door w/302...
    Now the question part...
It's black w/black int. with a white half top. Is this a rare color combo? Is this an original combo offered by Ford? He claims it's in good shape and does not want to fudge it up if it's worth leaving as is.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jay.....

As far as "leaving it as is"...while I am a big believer in leaving certain cars "stock"...this car in particular I don't think holds any special value if it remains stock.

In other words....modify it and have fun.

My 77 has the half white vinyl top, which was pretty common for that year, but it is blue/blue. I think black might be a bit rarer than most colors.

I bought mine with 30k original babied miles, and while the lure of leaving it bone stock was there due to its unmolested nature, the whole world doesn't value unmolested smog mavericks highly. So I have ditched the emissions, skinny wheels and tires, and that god awful VV carb to make the car more enjoyable to use.

    I have no regrets.

If I had an earlier model Grabber, I would have thought differently.

    Thanks all!!!

I will relay the info to him.
I too have found it hard to start messing around with what was a bone stock 71 I picked up a few years back. After looking around at what is out there as far as new and improved options to better the expericence that is driving a Mav. I have done plenty of changes to what was once original. No regrets...:D

    Thanks again!!!
