Professional pro. Air gap intake

    1972 mercury comet with a maverick front end. It has a 1992 5.0 motor in it.
    Anybody know if there any good? I can get one new in the box for 80.00

    they are good if you don't mind doing a lot of clean-up of the ports and plenum from the ruff casting if you can do it your self yes if you have to pay somebody to do -it id buy the edelbrock my:2cents:

    Take a look at this article to see some of what you will have to do to make these work. From my experience, you will find that most of the ports are different sizes, shapes and that they need a LOT of cleanup. Also spend some time smoothing the casting flash, check the gasket surfaces for fit and finish. If you are short of cash but have time available, these can be a good budget intake. Remember though, that sanding rolls, cutter tips and such are not free, so consider the cost of consumables in the overall cost of the intake.

    i bought the edelbrock air gap and other than a machining error on the deck side, i haven't had to do any work. although, I have only heard of 1 or 2 other people that have had the same problem, i know it costs more, but you get what you pay for.

    1973 Maverick Grabber, 347 4V w/F-1X, 1974 Maverick Grabber 302 4V, 1974 Maverick Grabber 302 2V, 1971 Maverick Grabber 302 4V.
    I put one on my 73 & I am very happy with it. I just bolted it on & drove it. I think it's a good intake for the money. :yup:
