DSCN2216.JPG DSCN2213.JPG DSCN2216.JPG Man, these projects take more time and money than you might ever expect! However, much of the expensive stuff is finished!!!!! My 73 model Maverick that I purchased approximately one year ago has undergone a complete paint job and as you can see, a change of color. You know that because the present color is not factory..... I purchased this car as a parts car for another project, but as you can see, it has turned into a complete restoration. I hope to be driving it to cruise-ins and also be just plain running around in it in the spring. The before pics that I posted was taken the day that I brought her home and washed off all of the dust! The only body parts missing when I bought the car was the front fenders. The car even had brand new (year 2001) carpet that was still in the box! The car is a 250- 6 cyl. with a manual transmission. I have added front disc brakes and a t-5 transmission. I also have a nice 302 engine to be added later.....Now don't ask me why the car is painted and the 302 motor is not installed in it yet...ok, here is why. Like I said, I have only had this car about a year and I work on it in my spare time. I did get it worked into my cousin's body shop and could not pass up the opportunity to get it painted before I gathered all the parts and installed the 302. I plan on removing the hood and front fenders when I do the engine swap and hope all goes well. I guess my $600.00 initial investment on a parts car has turned into a pleasant surprise!!

    Looks great!!!
Is the "Maverick" emblem on your rear quarter panel (behind the side windows) put on by Ford? It adds a nice touch.

The front seats are from a later model mustang and are mounted on maverick bucket seat tracks. I don't have a pic on my computer that I can post right now.

My latest pics of the Maverick. The front grille and headlight rings will be painted black before next spring.
