Well, with fall approaching I'm packing in the paint work, save for some last minute rust removal. My plan is to strictly work on interior issues over the Fall and Winter , like fixing the gas gauge, maybe switching to buckets, dying the interior black, etc. The stereo system is going to be the biggest part. I'm planning on going with Pioneer gear all around. I'm going to build a custom box for subs in the trunk. I was thinking about doing a dual battery setup, too. Also I'm going to install the shaved handle equipment. Hopefully I'll be mostly done by Spring, at which time I plan to have a body work and paint guy I know (20+ year veteran BTW) put on the paint (Midnight Blue) for me. I don't feel good about trying all of that myself as I am garageless. Any suggestions on what pound solenoids to get , companies to avoid, sub box advice or any issues you see? I'd sure appreciate more input. Thanks. :tiphat:

Just curious why your going to a black interior? These are just my opinions but black interiors are boring, way over done, and hid any details. A dark color car would look much better with a lighter color interior. Go to any local car show and I'l bet the interiors that make the most impression on you are not black. Like I said, just my opinions.

Well, I really decided on black as an alternative to the awful olive colored interior it has now. I don't really know any other color that will cover it up, it being so dark to begin with. I suppose I should look around at what options and products are available.

I am painting my Comet GT a dark metallic blue with a light sand color interior. The stripes will be the same sand color as the interior and the interior will have matching dark blue accents in it. With the midnight blue you've decided on, either a light tan (sand) color or a white interior will really make that dark blue look even better. You could also go with a light gray. Just some suggestions.

I was thinking of white after reading your post actually, although sand type might not be bad. Well, this will lead to more sitting behind the wheel and thinking- not that I mind. Thanks for the thoughts, Mavaholic- I swear I'm going to give you a call and drop in some day.:tiphat:

Dark blue and taupe (the tan family) really compliment each other and might be very striking...

What were you wondering about the sub box? I have built a ton of them and could help you out. Are you planning on building your own?
