Well, for most of us, winter is here and we are now in the off season, is anyone asking for anything for their car for Christmas, and what projects would you like to do this winter? here is my agenda

Pull the engine and pull the pan and check the bearings, 100 runs this year going 8500 rpm, with a couple over shifts over 9000 I figure it would be good to check the rods and mains.

Install the titanium intake valves and reset the seat psi on the springs.

send the headers to Nitro plate or Jet Hot and have them recoated, the coating is 15 years old and starting to get light rust on the bends where the most heat is

aerospace front brakes, this will depend how much money is left and how much overtime I get if it snows a lot

My list is huge but the progress will be small. I'm hoping to get my hands on floor pans and get those installed but that will require a new welder so I need to work that into the Christmas list!!!

my plans are for the comet gt (the black one is just waiting for money on the new engine) so the list goes like this check all of the brakes make sure theyre in good shape even though they seem to be working good next is hopefully I get a weather stripping kit for christmas but highly doubt it then its off to putting in the windows I have the gaskets for. I need to replace the upper ball joint but Ill prolly just replace the whole upper control arm on both sides. then Ill inspect the front suspension and bushings its so cold here now I dont even want to go outside were having over night lows in the teens and highs in the 50's on a warm day I know thats warm for some of you guys that get below 0 temps but thats freezing for me and unfortunately I dont have a heated garage

realistically Ill prolly just get the windows in so the rain doesnt get in and thats it

Eh my plans are to prep the body for a paint job and weight reduce the **** out of the car, goal is 2500 lbs with me and a half tank of gas.

I just got 'drafted' into a university level formula team, so I have access to lots of tools xD

MAJOR reconstructive surgery on some new RHS heads. Starting with some severe angle milling, then raised intake ports, and sleeved pushrod holes to end up with 300+ cfm from about 175-180 cc's for a very broad power range. With flow data along the way.

Then start on some custom glas work for the GT.

My objective is the same as any other winters - As long as I have the time and some kerosene for my space heater, I hope to get some general progress done

uh oh...RHS heads...not sure if you are aware of the issues i have with mine...

But my new engine is almost together then i need to build a drivers side header..because of RHS heads. I've also been rebuilding the whole front suspension. Xmas list has lower control arms, new cam/lifters/caltracs. also hope to find a set of rims to buy for my slicks..then send to the exhaust shop and then break in the motor :) hopefully have it all DONE before march.

yeah.. they are a slighty raised port design that some have had issues with.. and part of the reason I chose to start with them. I'll be building custom headers anyways, so it's moot to me.

Plus.. I'll be spec'ing my own parts and using thinner/lighter LS1 style valves too.

Thanks for the friendly heads up though. :)

Add some more pipe to the rollbar, saw a bad crash at MIR (Legends Race) that stuck with me. Too old, would never heal! Either freshen compression motor or install my pump gas bullet.

Just keep that in perspective and remember, "Any form of motorsport racing is dangerous and just because you add more pipe to the roll bar isn't
a guarantee you'll walk away from a serious accident", it's the design and how the car hits..............or gets hit..........also how well you are protected by all of the safety equipment you have............IMHO

How about some pictures of the car?????
