You could either do a search on the subject.....or just scroll down to the bottom of this page and look at the box titled "Similar Threads".

Or, we could be nice and repeat it for you...

Sometimes the search function doesn't get you exactly what you want.

I think the only tried and true method is sanding to the metal. That is what I did after using quite a few chemicals on mine, and nothing worked. Not sure about yours, but most of our cars have no paint under the glue. At least mine did not...I tried gasoline, acetone, various "adhesive removers", laquer thinner, xylene, and none worked. The gasoline worked best, but just made a (dangerous) slimy-tacky layer that moved around, but still wouldn't come up.

Jean Doll says she has successfully put WD-40 on really thick and let it set over night, so you could try that before sanding.

I don't think anything else has worked...

Oven cleaner...hmm, probably the only chemical I didn't think of trying. Seems like it could work.

Derek, let us know if EZ-Off is the way to go...

Yep. I used good old WD-40 to remove the glue form the roof of our 77' Maverick. I just sprayed it on, let it sit for about an 1/2 an hour and scapped the glue off with a dull putty knife. If you should decide to try this method, you will need a solvent or some type of de-greaser to remove the WD-40 when you are finished. The down side is that it's a messy way to remove the glue. The up side is that the WD-40 will not harm or soften the paint, nor will you need to worry about chemical burns from something as harsh as oven cleaners. Another good point is that you will use far less sandpaper than you would if you tried to sand the glue off.
