Well, I found a Maverick, a 71 grabber blue grabber that was on ebay just last week. It wears all original paint and stripes (minus hood decal) and is mostly rust free....After perusing the site I see the lack of good solid info to a few of the installation of the list below.

I will take the time to do a weekly write up (the days I work on it) if there is genuine interest in the project, and other members feel that the info could be useful to them or future board members...I do this kind of stuff for a living and adding pics and write-ups adds about 15% more time to the project...not an ideal condition for a paycheck.

So here is the summary of the project:

Ford Racing Coyote Engine/ Control Pack
    Likely Custom Headers
    Tremec TKO 500
AJE Strut Front Suspension (Colt 65)
    Explorer 8.8
Cal-Trac rear suspension with inboard springs
6 or 8 pt roll bar
    Subframe connectors
    Aftermarket brakes
    Gauges

And of course dyno flogging and much more

Basically an NMRA coyote stock build, What is coyote stock?
    http://www.nmradigital.com/cat/class_rules/docs/2013/coyote-2013.pdf

This class had peaked my interest and ive been bouncing around the idea for nearly a year, but i'll be damned if I bring another fox body mustang to this class....

This project wont be under way for a few more weeks as I need to get caught up around the shop before I start ripping the grabber apart.

Again PURISTS BEWARE, There will be Cutting, Grinding, Fabrication and Welding on a car that is very close to being totally "restorable" or a "survivor". But for you guys, the parts that are removed from the car will be available for sale, but my guess is that there will be few parts that members here will find as a must have, there doesn't seem to be a shortage of 8" rears, c4's or 200 sixes... Maybe the 5 lug stuff and possibly the stock grabber hood may be the hot commodities...

Definitely interested! I saw that coyote motor special on "Horsepower" and have been daydreaming of the build you are describing. I will be following this thread with great interest. Good luck. :thumbs2:

I've obtained a 2014 Coyote Motor with only 752 miles on it to drop in my '76 when it returns from Rod and Custom with the new front suspension. (Oddest thing I've seen in a while; a 2014 GT with the motor missing, yet still brandishing the temporary tag!)

I'm curious to see how this does in the Maverick. Not crazy about the pistons, though...

That does look like a really fun way to go drag racing, and getting a Mav in the class is an excellent way to bring in more variety. Looking forward to it.

I think that you will have a real advantage, too, given that these cars are very light to begin with and have a short wheelbase. You will be able to place weight where it will do the most good, in order to get up to the weight minimum, rather than being put in the position of having to lighten a heavier car.

There is a guy local to me, that is building a Maverick with a coyote motor, also for the NMRA coyote stock. Should be cool.

    Bring it on.

But be warned, although there is no Coyote build going on there are several tremendous builds going on and you will have to show up with some pretty sanitary work to stay in the same class.

Mavericks were born for this build. Let the games begin!

It seems though he is intending to be more instructional in his write-ups though. Not to single anyone out, but most build threads are:

I decided to do this today, pics of it complete.

Even a bunch of the tech articles are little more than that plus: oh and heres the list of junk to buy to do it.

I love my maverick grabber and I love the coyote motor in my Twenty 12 mustang. I will enjoy watching your project of merging the two. Why the tremec?
