Question About Editing Thread Titles

    i've noticed that when you edit the title of a thread it doesnt change how the title appears under the list of threads to view. i was thinking it would be cool if we could edit the title to say what were currently doing.

    for example a thread says this: My 1975 Maverick



    i want to change the title to this: My 1975 Maverick project progress: Motor Swap



    then when im done with the motor swap i want to be able to change it to the next project for the car: My 1975 Maverick Project Progress: Tranny Rebuild


    i hope that made sense to you guys lol...:D Stefan can you change it so that we can edit the title of our thread completly? :huh:

    but then how do we bookmark the different projects you do? i dont think there is a limit on new threads?

    You would also loose track of what you read. I might take intrest in the first title then be gone for a while (gone to Bahamas or Hawaii etc...)then when I come back, if it's different, I won't be able to find it.
    I think that's what you ment :oops:

    Only the moderators and myself can edit thread titles. Its due to the limitation of the software. The same limitation also applies to the editing of the price and location in the classifieds.

    You just hit edit and then hit go advanced and thats it.

    Well i tested it 3 different times and the title was different on new posts,off topic section, and inside the thread?

    your thread was in the off topic so you can do that :) i just added "..." to my thread saying "editing thread title question" and it didnt add the ... on the outside of the thread because of the section i'm in (forum feedback/suggestions) (y)

    I changed the title in a classified ebay type ad thing i accidently wrote possible sprint and i meant stallion if you go look in the ebay listings for it.

    I did some testing and you can edit the thread title by double clicking next to the title when viewing the thread listings of a sub forum.

    how did you do that? i tried double clicking the title but it didnt open up an option to edit it
