Not sure if this the right sub-forum, but here goes....Does anyone happen to know what is the difference, on a 1970 Maverick Grabber, between a Special Value Package #1 and a Special Value Package #2 options?

I have a 70 Brochure for the 70 Grabber and it does not mention anything about an "A" or "B" Value package. Perhaps that was a dealer thing. It list these options for the grabber: 250 ci, competiton handling suspension, convenience group, & power steering.

Thats what the brochure says. It includes, extra heavy duty springs front & rear, extra heavy duty shocks front & rear, and a heavy duty sway bar.

Hey, thats what it says. I wonder why they didnt have an extra heavy duty sway bar???

Because I want to keep all the info to myself!!! :D

Anyways....70grab emailed me...and this is what we have come up with.

Dave Ring (aka Maverick Guy) posted this awhile back when he got his Marti Report of his (formerly mine) 1970 Maverick Grabber:

Ok guys here is the inside scoop, I had a Marti report done on mine, but I was curious to see if anyone out there had a production number on them or not. So, this is what I found out. With the 1970 Grabbers the Grabber trim package was sold as "Special Value Package #2", and they built 30,140 of them.

Here is what 70grab emailed me:

I have attached a copy my Marti report, which refers to "Special Value Package #1" So was wondering what the difference was. I thought maybe because mine was an early build (Feb '70) and comes with a rimblow, that might be it, but I'm just guessing. Also if Maverick Guy says there was 30,140 built with SVP #2 and my report says there was 21,831 built with SVP#1, does that mean that maybe there was 51,971 1970 Grabbers?
Thanks for any info you can come up with. ps..... Also mine was built in St Thomas Ontario Canada

I tend to agree with 70grab in that the very first package of 1970 Grabbers only came in 3 colors and came with a rimblow steering wheel. The second package that came out came with NO rimblow.....but was available in any standard Maverick color. I really don't think that 51,971 of them were made....as that would outnumber all the other Grabbers for every year...and I really haven't seen that many of them. Who knows???

I found this doc on the Mustang Grabber site, looks like you could get them in 5 colors. The date of that release is the day my car was bucked, it was sheduled for build that day as well, but was late and built on the 20th of Feb 70.

So there is a way to tell if a 70 Grabber is in fact a 70 Grabber. I didnt know that.

Catch up frank, the "70½ L" refers to the 250 engine that became available approx same time as Grabber...
