Can Acrylic Enamel be compounded like lacquer? I know on my factory finish some years back I was able to rub it out and polish it like lacquer, even though it was enamel. About to put fresh acrylic on my Pinto, it's glossy as all get-out (I have done the cowl/engine comp/firewall thus far) but I do have some dust in it - and would like to compound it to get it smooth/shiny/dust free. Anyone? Thanks. Chris
Good, yes, I >did< put hardener in the paint, it's super tough and glossy. Man, that's a good thing, THANKS!! Chris
If it is a metalic color it can look bad after sanding and buffing. When you sand a metalic you cut the metalics on the surface and it can change, usually in a bad way, the final appearance. If it is a straight color, I have seen some of the best/deepest looking black that was single stage, you will be fine. JMO
