Hey guys.. Im planning my sound system and thought id ask the knowing members here how to install my cd player in my none needed center dash vent.. wiring isnt an issue, just mounting it as clean as possible.. Any help is help, thanks
I've never seen anyone do that swap. But in Brazil they came in that area from the factory, their dashes are different though.
That's where the radio shud have been in all of the cars - IMO. I think the ac duct behind the dash may have to be removed to accomplish radio install where the vent's located. To make it look right Im thinkin there will have to be some fabrication on the concave dash. In short some nice fab skills needed.
X2! I'm short at 5' 11" and I have no problem reaching the AC Vent. I find it more convenient than the stock location. And with today's radio you don't even have to take your hands off, you can have a remote mounted to the wheel.
Had my radio in that vent when I used to have one in the Comet.. Fit nicely, I even kept the vent but cut the top of it off to use it as a holder for the head unit.
