Hey guy's , I have a problem when I turn on the radio. It doesnot work. Even if I hook it directly to the battery. It seems to have lost its ground . Can any body give me a starting point besides a new ground. I've already done that.

If the radio is getting 12v and u know u have a good ground I think ur radio may have gone south. Is it a new radio or old unit? Does it light/backlight when it sees power? If not - I don't know of anything else but consider another radio.

If it's a original seventies radio, the main power capacitor may have gone bad. It's under the top cover. Radio Shack has them. They are simple to replace with a soldering iron. If it lights, your speaker may have gone bad, be sure to check that. I thought the radio in my Pinto had gone bad once, but it was the dash speaker. It was the original AM radio and speaker.
