I raised the bars a total of 1"and it's 60's are much more consistent, doesn't hit near as hard and seems to settle down easier...ranged from 1.25 to 1.27 and ET's from 5.74 to 5.76..if the 60 varied .01 so did the ET .01...mph stayed in the low 118's all night...I gotta be pretty happy about the results.

Todd if you have a high speed connection take a look at the first part of the video and see if you can draw any conclusions.

The second part is against one of those 10.5 inch Mustangs, good crowd for a T&T night..there's a true 10.5 shootout tommorrow so there were alot of "those" cars out there tonight... you gotta hand it to those guys and what they can do on a 10" tire.(y)

Nice videos, looks awesome! Glad to hear you got your 60's back. On your second run, it looked like you rocked a little at the line... that doesnt mess with your RT's?

Now, about them tires - are you SURE you don't want to go to a 10.5's? Your e.t. might even go down (less weight and less drag). I agree, those guys who do this on 10.5's have gonads of steel. It's a blast to watch too.

    Great vids.

    Thanks and continued success!

Rusty it can effect the 60' time alot depending on how much rocking is going on, I got a little antsy easing in but at launch it had stopped rockin, 3 of those Mustangs had made passes just prior to my pass and they had just prepped the track again so it made for a good launch and best pass of the night....001 light.. 1.25 60'... 5.74 at 118.24.
Rick I couldn't imagine the consequences of what would amount to 10 inches of less tire on the pavement:16suspect

The ten inch tires are even more fun in a full quarter at the top end over 130 in a mustang lots of swaying.

Well after doing some stop motion on the video it's plain for about the first 2 feet the tires are spinning...when it hooks it goes to the bars qwik then rides the bars for about 15-20 ft. and settles down. This is probably due to track conditions...
Anyone got any ideas on how to eliminate that spin if it's not track conditions.

Those vids are pretty dark. Hard to see what's really going on in those.

But, I do have a question. I have a camera..but don't have a video capture card. Any of ya'll got any suggestions as to which one (inexpensive) would be best? I don't have firewire either...just USB2.

Also, judging from what I can see of the vids, it looks like it might need a little more anti-squat. It's hitting the tires real hard at first (spin) then getting up on the bars, then almost nosing over once the bars absorb the energy. A little more AS might help it smooth out. You might lose a little on the 60' times, but it'll be a LOT more consistent. AS can't be changed without messin with the 4 link bar locations, so your IC might change a little too. IMO, with "only" 1.2X 60' times, the wheelie bars shouldn't be hitting that hard. Moving the IC rearward a little bit and dropping the AS down to, say, 85-90%, should help.

But then again, I'm no expert. Just throwing ideas out there.

Todd are you sayin you don't have an external memory card?...or video camera.?..Kodaks brand of vid/digital camera gives the most bang for the buck far and away IMO and it plugs into a USB port
If adjusting the 4 link will eliminate the spin then that's whats gotta be done...I just gotta learn how to do it. I'm gonna post a link to some software by Jerry Bickel that teaches chassis setup.
THAT SPIN is whats killin me...after 60 feet the car is dead on.
Another thing that came to mind was my gear ratio (5.14) I'm wandering if something in the 5.50-5.70 range might help.

What spring rate are you running in the rear of the car?
