Went out to Gateway Intl Raceway last night and ran my stock 1971 200 i6 maverick. My best pass was 20.6 @ 63mph. It was good for a laugh, something to look back on after the motor swap.

Makes our Stocker look like a rocket by comparison. Everyone says "ugh, a 15 second race car" and I say " well, what do think a bone stock 6cyl Maverick would run?" There you have it!!

Is this the car that has the tranny that's stuck in 1st gear? :hmmm:

I think it's great to have a time-slip like that BEFORE you make the swap. Good luck with it! (y)

When My Sprint was new it ran a 15.01 at Creeds Raceway in VA. That was a 1000ft track. Mine was a 200, 3 speed, I'm betting yours is automatic.

This was a 1/4 mile track, and yes, it's an auto. My 1/8 was 13.042 and my 1000ft was 17.135.

i had an import try and race me home from work yesterday when i was in the mav.... he had the huge fart can on it and it sounds real LOUD..... well the light changed and i kinda held back a little to see what he has....and i stayed right with him without trying...

got to the light and he was all like.. i so had you...blew you away...

i said lets go again... he said ok...maybe we should run for money... i sadi nah..dont want to take your car from ya...he started laughing like he had me beat...

light changed green... i smoked him so bad i guarantee he was crying...

by the time he got to the next light 5 cars had passed him and i couldnt point and laugh at him....
    lol

    god i love my mav...
