Had some auto enamel mixed and painted the hood today. Came out pretty good .. kinda humid out and it has a little orange peel. I put it on thick so I can wet sand and buff it out when dry ...
Thanks ... unfortunately it's probably gonna look better than the rest of the original paint on the car ...
It's official. Dan has resigned from the Black Hood Society. The hood looks good. Colton should be happy. But you are still....
I ordered the paint from here ... http://www.autopaintdirect.com/ I am glad I used rustoleum auto primer on the hood. I used a different brand on the scoops (plastikote I think - I threw out the can) and one of them lifted a little in two places ..
Wow! You do amazing things with a rattle can! I have a red hood on my teal colored Prelude that I was living with because I thought that a rattle can paint job would be worse. Thanks for showing me that it can be done. John B
Just prep it like you were painting it with a spray gun .... Here's a bike I rattle canned a while back ... I went with a two-stage on this one ....
The hood smoothed out nice and looks just as good or better than the factory orange peel (almost none) ... So not gonna need any wet sanding. The new front valance is next ...
Just click on the Spray Cans Matched Color picture to order. You gotta give them your year and color code ...
Dan ,that is unbelievable! If I thought I could make rattle can paint look that good I would consider painting my whole car with it!
