    i have a '73 302 mav. I would like to know how to read the codes expressed on the door jam. they read: body 62a, color 3D, Trim HB, Trans 1, ax 6, DSO 57. The engine code in the vin is F. I dont believe it has the original engine. id also like a brief explanation on how to read vins.( i have a partial knowledge of them) id be forever thankful to anyone who could decifer these for me. :bananaman

    62A = 2dr sedan
    3D = if you wear 3d glasses while driving you could be in trouble. hehe really it means med. blue metallic.
    HB = med blue, vinyl interior
    1= 3spd manual
    6= 3.00:1 gear ratio
    DSO57 = Houston

    and if you REALLY want some cool stuff, look under the drivers seat between the seat springs and the foam padding. if you are lucky you should find the "build sheet" it was masking taped to the car as it went down the linee... if you find it, it is very brittle. remove it gently! i had mine laminated. a conversation piece at shows!
