I haven`t touched my car for a long time,I`m loosing interest in it fast.I brought my bumpers and boomerangs in before Christmas to get redone.I have got nothing back yet! And I`ve parted ways with my friend that was doing all the bodywork and now the car sits in my garage in bare metal.I have no motivation to do anything to it at all,I do have the energy to work on other cars, but not this one for some reason.I have thousands into it it too,I have a new T-5 sitting here, new seats, new motor, new weatherstripping kit,new PST rebuild kit, dashpad, door panels, etc, etc. I dunno what to do,I love the car but have lost all interest in it! HELP!

First of all get something on that bare metal.

Then... is it costing anything to sit there?

dont feel bad,...one of the hardest things to do, is to keep interest in a project that is either completely apart or not able to be driven. it takes real drive to see one thru from start to finish.

dont take that the wrong way, its just how it goes , I'd imagine all of us that have done a car top to bottom have experianced the same thing.

2 suggestions- either sell it and buy a decent drivable car to work on as you can still drive it and enjoy it while doing what ever you had planned, only do each thing in steps when possible to keep it driveable adn keep your interest up....

or, step away from it, forget about it for a bit, then try to re-approach it fresh...

good luck with whatever you decide on doing(y)

Just hang onto it. It'll be there when the interest comes back. I'm going through the same exact thing with my '83 Trans Am. It's sitting in my garage all torn apart. For some reason, the Maverick has all of my interest right now...

The one thing is,is that lately alot I`ve really been thinking about the car I really, really, really want, which is a `57 Ford 2 dr.So I dunno what to do.Thinking maybe I`ll offer it for sale,if theres no interest in it for what I want out of it then I`ll keep it.

I can personally attest to this, although being in school is the most part of me not working on it. I just lost interest in it. I had it all torn down to the shell. One day I realized, what I had been doing before school and figured I wanted to finish the mav. Here I am devoting my extra weekend time to getting it back together, just have some wiring, dash, and a windshield to deal with now.

so, step away from it, forget about it and it will come back around to you
