Supposed to run the make up race yesterday from Jan. 2. 15mph north wind and 29 degree's. Track owners cancelled it again and are not rescheduling, got to wait another month now to start the season. Worked on the Mavman's acquired 84 mustang and got the adj. upper rear control arms installed. Set the pinion angle and re-plumbed the disk brakes etc. Fired it up after sitting for several months and it sounds good to go, he installed an X pipe off the headers and kind of makes it sound puny???? Had the starter from the track visit to bring his four wheeler over for a top end overhaul and general check up. While here he got a call from a good friend in Chicago, after the call he told us the guy was building a 64 Galaxie for show and go. The best part is the engine, he found it in a dumpster next to an old garage that had been cleaned out. 427 side oiler, had been recently overhauled and with a few parts missing. Is now in the Galaxie and running great. Supposed to bring it down to our track this summer and run it on all Ford's day. Youngest son finds a 6-71 blower in a salvage yard and brings it home. What do I find, empty beer cans and a pile of dog do-do in the driveway. Where is the justice in it all.

Sweeeeet, keeping mind and body busy, is a must, for us to survive. Working on any Ford product can only enhance our knowledge on our Mavericks and Comets. The wizard of odd's has spoken.

Other than the shackles, looks great.

Once many years ago after my daughter damn neat totaled my 79 Bronco, I found a perfect hood for it in a construction dumpster. Thats about the best thing I ever found in one.

well old guy, if it makes you feel any better i went to the track yesterday in phoenix. was in the 80's. felt great second time run ran 11.965. first run in the 11's. track warmed up. ran the run for the money. dialed 12.08, ran 12.084. lost over $500 by a couple of thousandths. ran first round. lost in a double breakout by .007. had hoped for a little better start for the season. but it still was a nice day at the track.:)

    Wow Don.
That's exactly the same as the last pass I made.
Here's hoping we end up at the same track one of these days.

Yea I worked in the **** out there. Not pleasant at all. My first day on the job I got "Valley Fever" it was 105degrees I left work early thinking I was a wussy but it turned out I also had a 104 degree temp that lasted 3 days. Had a 114 degree day and maybe a 115 degree when I lived out there for less than a year. It was  HOT:mad: but man it was great to be able to cruise the mav around year round.
