has anyone put a 5.0 rear end in a maverick? have 1989 5 lug disc brake with 373's. how do i get it on the car?

i've got an '89 8.8 in my '74 GT. it's just a 3.08 gear with drum brakes but fit's fairly well. It was already installed when I purchased the car. Looks like they cut off the lower control arm perches but left the top ones and just welded pads to the axle tubes for the leaf springs. You need offset wheels though to make it look factory, it's about an inch or so wider than an 8 in.
