I'm adding a grabber rear spoiler to my Maverick and The hole from the factory are pretty big so it got me to wondering. How do you seal the spoiler to the trunk lid to prevent water from getting inside?

The nuts have a big flare (bell) that is filled with a sealant. I've used rubber washers to seal it. the big hole allows for adjustment.

I have been wondering how I was going to seal the spoiler to the trunk lid, and think I will use either some double sided tape or the strips of caulking that 3M sells, all along the edge of the decklid spoiler.

The factory sealed around the holes.

I am thinking of having mine feathered into the deck when I get my car painted.

Prepare for cracks to pop up after you closed the trunk a few times. Might not happen right away but it will happen.
