Been looking under the rear of my 70 for a while. I think it's time to beef up the suspension. Currently have rancho airshocks(I know) & lakewood traction bars. I really wanna keep my stance and leafs, but what other options and upgrades are out there? Looking for mainly bolt on kind of stuff. Different shocks? Coil conversion? Etc.
What are you mainly going to be using the car for? That will make a big difference in what you're looking for. Some want Street/Strip straightline performance, others like the Pro-Touring deal, and still others prefer the cushy cruising setup. Just up to you which way you want to go...Me, I've chosen the Strip route, and I use the Cal-Trac type setup. It works for me.
No problems with 9" fitment. Getting the front of leaf springs unbolted and the leaf springs dropped out is the hardest part, getting the new bushing in the front eye can be challenging as well, I just burnt mine out. While you have everything apart might as well give it a nice paint job
I'm going to go with some caltracs in the next month or so and wondering what would be a good rear shock to go with them? I don't even know what size airshocks are in the rear.
road 75% or the time strip 25%. I'm also looking into doing new front shocks next month. thinking about calvert 90/10s but idk how they'll do on road
