Rear Tie-Down Decal ...

I have seen Mavericks with the rear tie down still installed. However, I did not know that they were shipped with the same decals as Mustangs. Here is an original rear valance I recently picked up with the decal still there ... mostly ....

 

Not sure where that goes, but its pretty neat

 

Dan here's a shot of the one on my car. Not sure what year it's from but it's on a smalle bmper valance behind the license plate. (ignore the wires there for my lighted plate frame. Russ

 

It Might Be Nice To Have The Tie Down Plates, It Would Be Good To Have A Specific Place To Tie Em' Off For Transport To Shows And Roundups And Well You Know..............

 

Russ .. is that the original or did you put a reproduction on?

The 72 Grabber that Dave and I parted out in Ohio still had them on the car ... The bottom of the car was so rusted out I didn't even bother trying to remove them ..

 

I have seen that decal as well. Had one of my 1970 Grabber when I bought it.....it was the original sticker.

As the sticker states....the dealer was to remove the plates. Over the years I have found several of the plates still on the car.

 

I was torn between leaving the 1974 N.C. license plate on the car
at the Roundup and leaving it off to show the repop sticker.

Would I have gotten more points if I had shown it?

LOL ... I went for a cruise today and stopped by Mustangs Unlimited. I picked up the tie-down decal and a new FRONT decal for my air cleaner which had got messed on on the Grabber. Pretty much just a waste of $3 since it's behind the Tag anyway. I have a really nice 1971 Georgia Tag that I may start putting on for shows ...

 

I drive mine around all the time with the '74 tag. The real legal
tag is in the trunk. Everyone around here does that.

I don't think it is a repop, It was on the valace when I got it. BTW my 73 4 door still have the downs on it. I used them to haul the car from N.J.

 

So you offering to pay my ticket if I try it? ...

 

I've been running illegal tags on my Mavericks for over 6 years now. The legal tags have never been on the car.

 

I dont think i have that sticker, i'll have to remove the 72 License plate that was on the car when I bought it

 

I figured I would just tell any cop who asks that I forgot to
switch them out after a show.
