    Maverick with cougar taillights
I recently have installed some sequencing 67 mercury cougar taillights on my maverick. They have left me with my back up lights in the trunk with no where to go. While it's not a huge deal because they don't even work since converting from the C4 auto to the T5 manual, I was thinking of ideas of how to remedy it when I actually do get those lights hooked up.

Is it true the 69-70 mustang rear valance bolts up directly in place of the maverick valance? I like the exhaust relief cutouts and they are equipped with pre-cut holes for back up lights. Thanks

I've seen so many post saying that they do, but no one ever bothers to post a pictures.

So until then I really doubt they'll fit.

I think it is too wide. Just get the lights and cut the holes yourself. I've seen a couple of cars on here with them.

what about the 67-68 they arent as wide...i use to own one of each body styles...a 68 and a 69...68 was def not as wide....and by looking at both of my cars side by side in pics i think the rear bumper will work off a 67-68 mustang too.

I compared the 3 today, while sitting at a car show. We just happened to have a 69 Mach 1, a 68 Mustang GT, and my 73 Grabber, all sitting in a row. I would say, neither Mustang one would fit a Maverick without some major work. So, they are not a direct bolt on.

I bought a Maverick parts car thah had a Mustang valence on it. They had to cut a some off of each end to make it work. Looked like crap.

This is a 69-70 rear valance, the only mod was fill in the reverse light holes. You can see the radius at the edges is off and it has a large flat right under the bumper but with no replacements at the time I think it fits pretty good. Most people don't notice the difference. The width is right and the exhaust cut outs are in the right spot too. I did use a flat hex head screw at the lower edge instead on the internal bolt and screw.

If the best Maverick builder of all time says it'll work It's good enough for me! Love your cars Tom (y)

I don't think the flat spot looks bad at all!
