Rear Valence mounting screws

    Anybody know for sure if the rear valence screws were painted or a natural finish? I suppose Ralph Price would know for sure.

    Not 100% sure,but I think I would go with the painted to aide in rust prevention

    I believe they are just zinc plated. Mine were never painted....

    What ones? the ones that go into the tailight panel? or the ones underneath that go into the quarter panel?? I can look on my 73, it's still original paint in that area.

    Mine are just plated, no paint..........

    Speaking of rear valances......the "Tie-Down" tag behind the number plate came loose some time ago and the number 694 is written in yellow marker behind it. I thought rotation number as on the buck tag but that is not it....any ideas?

    Thanks Ralph for leting me know on the screws.

    On the number.....I have always found it to be the rotation number written on there. What is your rotation number?

    I have also seen car dealers that write their stock numbers on the back of cars back there.....but that wouldn't explain why it was under the decal. I suppose maybe the dealer could have removed the decal then wrote his stock number on there???? Just thinking out loud here.

    Do you have the build sheet Ralph?

    Hmmmmmmm......The mystery thickens.....yes I have the build sheet and to my surprise the rotation number IS 694, but I thought the number in the top left of the buck tag was the rotation number. My tag says 788. I posted my tag in another thread so I can't seem to attach it again.
