Got an estimate from one place today to do both bumpers and those boomerang pieces.I thought the bumpers were a lil high at $275 each, and they only wanted $30 each to do the boomerang pieces.Anyone have a "source" that is substantially less to do the bumpers? I thought they`d be maybe $200 a piece at the most.

Be careful about the boomerang pieces. They are pot metal and lots
of chrome shops would rather not deal with pot metal. They are more
difficult than steel to work with. Make sure whoever you talk to knows
what they are going to be dealing with.

I think I paid $45 each for mine to be rechromed. They did an okay
    job on them.

I had heard that Tri-City was the best around, but that they had really
cut down on individual jobs due to a contract with Harley-Davidson.

Or you can try Restoration Chrome in Spokane, Washington.

I got mine thru them at $240 a piece. The good part was, I emailed Jim Scott & told him what I needed. He had good cores on hand. I didn't have to send my bumpers back as cores, until I had the new ones in hand.

Found a place locally this morning, supposedly in business since 1955 too. They have a lifetime gaurantee, and the guy gave me a tour of their facility. To straighten, strip, clean and rechrome the bumpers it`ll be $400 for the pair, and $60 for the pr of the boomerang trim pieces, which is awesome, the other place wanted over $600 to do everything and had no gaurantee.
