What 28oz Harmonic Balancers do you guys suggest for $100 or under? I'm going to replace mine on my stock 302. I've seen these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Profess...Parts_Accessories&hash=item58a07fb957&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/SBF-FORD-28...Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item564588ecc2 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-163289/overview/make/ford/year/1971/model/maverick http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/d...2119_2304&keyword=balancer&pt=02316&ppt=C0332 (This is cheaper at RockAuto, but just a question about the brand) http://www.summitracing.com/parts/atp-102010/overview/make/ford (Also cheaper at RockAuto, but again, question about the brand) http://www.autozone.com/autozone/pa...ick/_/N-iq4ocZ93y2h?itemIdentifier=155381_0_0_ http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?R=NDP6005226_0374196133 Where would you put YOUR money, given a tight budget? Other suggestions? Brands to avoid? Thanks!
Pro Products. Best for the money, has 3 and 4 hole bolt patterns. Has 3 timing mark sets for different years of engines. I've been running them on race motors for the last 4 years with zero problems. Putting one on my 351C Maverick. Speedway Motors also sells them. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Professional-Products-Small-Block-Ford-Harmonic-Balancers,1802.html They also stock all the different spacers you may need. SPark
Thanks Im14. My only problem with that one is that I have to buy the spacers separately, where a few of the others include them (if needed). Still a good option though, especially if I don't need a spacer anyway...anyone know for sure? Any other recommendations?
IIRC.. most won't require using spacers unless you run later blocks with newer serpentine belt setups. I've never had to run them on early blocks and my Fluidamper doesn't require one on my 73 block running v-belts. you may want to call the mfgrs directly to get proper advice on spacer requirements for your particular setup. Plus.. it'll be much faster than playing the chat game around here for 2 days just to figure it out.
Go to the Speedway link and check "notes" to the right of the picture. It tells you exactly what spacers are needed when. SPark
